1. Who We Are
CompanyMatrimony is a matrimony platform operated by SLR TECH, the technology division of SLR CORE. We help Indian professionals find life partners by enabling search, discovery, and connection within verified employer networks. Our platform is available at matrimony.slrcore.com.
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use CompanyMatrimony, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Sensitive Personal Data or Information (SPDI) Rules, 2011.
2. Data We Collect
Registration data
When you create a profile you provide:
- Display name, age, gender, religion, mother tongue, city, and state
- Professional details: employer, job title, industry, and work experience
- Lifestyle details: height, dietary preferences, hobbies, and about-you text
- Family background: caste, gotra, sibling details, and property details (all optional)
- Contact details: phone number and personal email address
Verification data
To earn the company-verified badge you provide a corporate email address. We send a one-time password (OTP) to that address via AWS Simple Email Service. The OTP expires after ten minutes. We do not store your raw corporate email address in plaintext — it is encrypted at rest using AWS Key Management Service (KMS) and is never displayed to any other user on the platform.
Usage data
We collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, page requested, timestamp) for security monitoring and error diagnosis. We do not use this data for advertising.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Profile display. Your public fields are visible to all logged-in users. Fields you mark as "Approved only" are visible exclusively to users with whom you have a mutually approved connection.
- Search and discovery. Your public profile data enables other users to find you by employer, city, industry, and other public filters.
- Connection requests. When a user sends you a connection request, only your public profile is shared. Restricted fields become visible only after both parties approve the connection.
- Company verification. Your work email is used solely to verify your current employer via OTP. It is encrypted at rest and never shared with any other user or third party beyond the verification step.
- Authentication. We use Amazon Cognito to manage account credentials. We never store passwords in plaintext or handle raw session tokens outside of Cognito.
- Platform improvement. Aggregated, anonymised usage data helps us improve search relevance and overall platform performance.
4. Visibility Controls
Every sensitive field on your profile has a visibility setting: Public or Approved only. You choose this setting when you create or edit your profile. The setting is enforced server-side on every API call — the frontend never receives data a viewer is not entitled to see. Fields such as salary range, phone number, personal email, and family background default to "Approved only" and are shared only after mutual connection approval.
5. Data Storage and Security
Our infrastructure runs entirely on AWS (Amazon Web Services) in the Asia-Pacific region:
- Database: Amazon DynamoDB with server-side encryption enabled by default.
- Sensitive field encryption: AWS KMS encrypts sensitive fields (corporate email, contact details) at rest with envelope encryption.
- Authentication: Amazon Cognito manages passwords and session tokens. We do not handle raw credentials anywhere in our codebase.
- Transport: All traffic is served over HTTPS/TLS via Amazon CloudFront. There is no unencrypted HTTP endpoint.
- Static assets: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are served from Amazon S3 + CloudFront. They contain no personal data.
Despite these measures, no system can guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your Cognito account and to keep it confidential.
6. Third-Party Services
We share limited data with the following third-party service as necessary to operate the platform:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud hosting, database, encryption key management, CDN, and email delivery (SES). AWS processes data as a data processor on our behalf under their standard Data Processing Addendum.
We do not share your data with matrimony brokers, advertisers, or data brokers. We do not sell personal data under any circumstances.
7. Cookies and Browser Storage
CompanyMatrimony uses sessionStorage in your browser solely to remember your light/dark theme preference for the duration of your browser session. This preference is cleared automatically when you close the browser tab. We do not use cookies for tracking, analytics, or advertising.
8. Data Retention
We retain your profile data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your profile, connection history, and contact details within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate statistics (for example, the number of verified profiles per employer category) may be retained indefinitely.
9. Children's Privacy
CompanyMatrimony is intended solely for adults aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately at the address below so we can remove the account promptly.
10. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information on your profile at any time via the Edit Profile screen
- Request deletion of your account and all associated personal data
- Object to processing of your data where permitted by applicable law
- Withdraw consent for company verification (this removes your verified badge but keeps your account active)
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@matrimony.slrcore.com. We will respond within 30 days.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of CompanyMatrimony after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. For material changes that affect your rights, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice on the platform.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will other users ever see my corporate email address?
Never. Your corporate email is used only to send the OTP verification code. After verification succeeds, the raw address is encrypted with AWS KMS and is not accessible to the frontend, to other users, or even to our engineers without explicit key access. Other users only see the "★ Verified" badge and your employer name.
Who can see my phone number and salary range?
Only users with whom you have a mutually approved connection — meaning both you and the other person clicked Approve on each other's request. Until that happens, those fields are completely hidden, even in API responses.
Does CompanyMatrimony use cookies or tracking scripts?
No. We use only sessionStorage to persist your light/dark theme preference. There are no analytics SDKs, advertising pixels, or third-party cookies on the platform.
How do I delete my account and all my data?
Email privacy@matrimony.slrcore.com from the address you registered with. We will permanently delete your profile, connections, and contact details within 30 days and send you a confirmation.
