The Problem We Are Solving
India's matrimony market has been digital for more than two decades, but one dimension has been consistently under-served: professional trust. Most platforms require users to self-declare their employer, qualifications, and income — with no mechanism to verify any of it. Profiles get embellished, employers get invented, and salary figures grow with each edit. Families investing time and emotion into a connection have no way to tell a genuine profile from a fabricated one.
For the segment that cares about this most — working professionals employed at organisations with corporate email systems — there was no purpose-built solution. CompanyMatrimony was built to close that gap.
How We Verify Employers
The core trust mechanism is simple: work-email OTP verification. When you register, you can optionally verify your employer by entering your corporate email address. We send a six-digit one-time code via AWS Simple Email Service. If you can receive that code, it confirms you are a current employee with access to that corporate inbox. Your profile is then marked with the ★ Verified badge alongside your employer name.
Crucially, your raw corporate email address is encrypted at rest using AWS Key Management Service (KMS) and is never shown to any other user. Other users see only the verified badge and your employer name — nothing more. The verification happens server-side, and the frontend never receives the underlying email address.
Privacy by Design
Not everything belongs in a public profile. CompanyMatrimony gives you granular control over which fields are visible to whom. Every sensitive field — salary range, phone number, personal email, caste, family background details — has a visibility toggle:
- Public — visible to any logged-in user who views your profile
- Approved only — visible only to users with whom you have a mutually approved connection
The server enforces these settings on every API response. The frontend never receives a field you are not entitled to see. You cannot accidentally expose restricted data by opening DevTools.
The Mutual-Consent Connection Model
Sharing personal details with a stranger on the internet should require explicit consent from both sides. CompanyMatrimony's connection model enforces this:
- User A views User B's public profile and sends a connection request.
- User B reviews User A's public profile and either approves or declines.
- Only if User B approves does the platform unlock each other's restricted fields — for both users simultaneously.
- Neither party ever sees the other's private details without explicit approval.
This design means that salary ranges, phone numbers, and family details are exchanged only when both parties are genuinely interested — not leaked through a simple profile view.
Search by Company
The Search by Company feature is the heart of the platform. You can search for profiles by employer name, filter by industry, city, gender, religion, and verification status, and browse results showing only public fields. The search is linkable — share a URL with your family and they see the exact same filtered view.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the company verification badge work?
Click "Verify Your Company" on your profile or during registration. Enter your corporate
email address. We send a 6-digit OTP via email — it expires in 10 minutes. Enter the code
to confirm you have access to that inbox. Your profile is then marked with the
★ Verified badge. In mock/demo mode, the code is always 123456.
What data does another user see when they view my profile?
If you have not connected: only your public fields (name, age, employer, job title, city, public lifestyle fields). If you have an approved mutual connection: your public fields plus any fields you marked "Approved only" (salary, phone, personal email, family details). Your raw corporate email is never shown to anyone.
Is CompanyMatrimony free to use?
The core platform — registration, profile creation, search, and connection requests — is free. We may introduce premium features for enhanced visibility or search tools in a future release.
Which employers are supported for verification?
Any organisation with a corporate email domain can be verified — Infosys, TCS, Accenture, Wipro, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Flipkart, HDFC Bank, Cognizant, Zomato, and hundreds more. If your employer uses a shared domain like Gmail or Yahoo for work email, verification is not available since we cannot confirm employer identity from those domains.
