Know what the badge checks
Work-email verification indicates completion of a code flow involving a work email address. It does not establish a person’s character, finances, marital status, or intentions. It is not a background check or a promise that a relationship will be suitable. Company names shown in profiles do not mean those employers endorse the platform.
Read the full profile and ask questions when important information is unclear or inconsistent. A badge should not replace your judgment or make you feel obliged to approve a request quickly. If employment details seem outdated or misleading, contact support with the profile link and a brief explanation.
Separate interest from access
Before accepting a connection, review what you have marked Approved only. Accepting may make those sections available to the other person. Anything you share can be copied or saved by its recipient, so avoid sharing information merely because a setting allows it. Keep phone numbers and personal addresses out of public free-text descriptions.
Keep account codes private
Do not share passwords or one-time codes with another member. Use the verification dialog on this website to enter a code you requested. Be cautious of links asking you to sign in again or pay to “unlock” an account. Navigate to the site directly if a message makes you uncertain about where a link will take you.
Be careful with requests for money
Requests for urgent financial help, gifts, travel payments, or investment opportunities are reasons to stop and reconsider the interaction. A familiar employer name or a detailed personal story is not proof that a request is safe. Do not send financial documents or payment credentials to someone you have met through a profile.
Plan a first meeting with care
Choose a public place, arrange your own transport, and tell someone you trust where you are going. Keep the meeting within a plan you are comfortable changing. If a person pressures you to keep the meeting secret, move to a private location, or ignore your boundaries, you can decline or leave.
Report a concern with useful context
Visit Contact & report a concern. Include the profile link, an approximate date, and a concise description of what happened. Keep relevant messages for your own records. If you share screenshots with support, remove unrelated personal information and never include login codes or passwords.
Support correspondence is not an emergency response service. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or someone nearby who can help. You can stop an interaction without waiting for a support reply.
Respect other people’s decisions
A declined request or an unanswered message is not permission to keep contacting someone through colleagues or family. Do not circulate profile details or screenshots without consent. The same care you want for your own information should guide how you handle someone else’s.
